In+Its+Fifth+Year%2c+the+Gallery+Walk+Continues+To+Delight


Begun in 2004, the Bay City Gallery Walk, held the first Thursday of each month at Bay City galleries and other shops, continues to delight art and music lovers with a variety of activities. Some events, like the Nancy Farley at Brewtopia and Jeff Ward at Ward Studio, offer spectators the chance to see artists work, and passersby the Ward Studio will get the chance to create a collaborative painting. Mike McMath's "Empty Canvas" show at the Kingfish combines both art and music. That evening many other businesses will extend their hours, among them Dive & Glide, Herman Hiss, Mid-Michigan Music, and St. Laurent Brothers.

Kingfish Restaurant and Lounge (1019 N. Water St.) will host Mike McMath's "Empty Canvas," a guitar playing/live painting show.

Ward Studio & Painterly Pottery (904 N. Water St.) will feature the work of owner Jeff Ward and offer a live painting demonstration. Passersby may participate in creating a collaborative painting.

Brewtopia (810 Saginaw St.) will display work by artists Kevin Kucken, Mike Schingeck, Julie List, Maryanne W. Grant and mOOg. Nancy Farley will be painting on site, and an informal ensemble of musicians will play bluegrass music.

Sweet Boutique (816 Washington Ave.) will display black-and-white photographs by Jamie O'Hare and paintings by Marie Jeffrey. 

Golden Gallery & Custom Framing (113 Third St.) will host a reunion of photographers from Lansing Community College, displaying their various works.

Object D'Aarts (810 Washington Ave.) will feature live music.

Intermission Deli (111 Third St.) will host an artist TBA.

The September Gallery Walk will feature a maritime theme.
