In Flint on March 24 and 26, former US Olympian Jeff Galloway will talk about how you can incorporate walking and running into your lifestyle and be active until you are 100!

Since 1978 Galloway has developed group running programs (including his trademarked RUN-WALK-RUN program), coached runners and walkers of many levels through his speaking tours, been the race director of numerous fitness events nationwide, and penned a monthly column for Runner's World magazine.

Galloway wasn't always the stellar athlete he remains today. At his Website, he describes how he was a sedentary child until required to take PE in 8th grade.  When participating in the school's track conditioning and trail running program, he got hooked on the team spirit and sense of well-being the natural body chemicals called endorphins create after exercising. Even then, it was only as a high school senior and later as a scholar athlete at Wesleyan University that he began to truly excel and make connections in the running world that would last a lifetime.

With over 120 marathons under his feet, Galloway has honed not only his own skills but created training programs that work for many others. He offers Galloway Marathon Training Groups, which are programs for athletes at all levels of half-marathon and marathon participation. He has published some dozen books for runners, including the best-selling title on running in North America (Galloway's Book on Running), created podcasts and software, and offered clinics for corporations wanting to encourage employee fitness.

He has made a life out of running and helping others learn the joy of physical fitness through running and walking. "This past year, my 42nd year of running, was the best of my life," he wrote at his Website. "It is my mission in each of my talks to help others avoid the aches and pains, while experiencing all of accomplishment and attitude enhancement which running bestows better than anything in life."
