Hot rods, rockabilly, pin up girls, and a burlesque show: just a few of the things you can expect to see at the "Rumble in Flint."  Saginaw-based Rumbleville Underground Clothing Company is committed to the hot rod inspired, rockabilly, psychobilly, punk, goth, and pin up culture which they promote not only through the items they sell and the companies they support at their stores, but also through various events and shows they host in Saginaw and Flint throughout the year.  This Saturday, July 25, 2009, they will be hosting "Rumble in Flint" at Flint's Machine Shop, home of the second Rumbleville store.

Headlining the event is Detroit's Twistin Tarantulas with their retro-rooted rock and roll.  There will also be performances by a number of bands spanning the Detroit, Flint, and tri-city area, including Graveside Manner, Cash O'Riley and the DownRight Daddies, Cornpone, The Tremblors, The Triple Aces, and Ratza.  Also at the show will be DJ Del Villareal from WCBN Ann Arbor's "Go Kat, Go! The Rock-a-billy Show."

There will also be a Pin Up Girl Contest with prizes going to the winners, and burlesque performances from Spag Detroit.  In the parking lot, there will be a car show hosted by Nightmares Car Club with trophies going to the winners in various categories, including Hot Rods, Rat Rods, Customs, Choppers, and Bobbers.  Additionally, there will be a number of food and drink vendors on site.

Doors open at 5pm.  The Machine Shop is located at 3539 S. Dort Highway, Flint, MI 48507.  This is an 18 and up event.  Tickets cost $10.00 and can be purchased in advance of the show at the Machine Shop (810-715-2650) and Paradise Express (810-743-0330) in Flint, High Octane (810-629-6199) in Fenton, and Rumbleville (989-799-2223) and JB Meinbergs (989-799-1171) in Saginaw.  Stay tuned for the second all-ages Rumble in Saginaw event to take place later this year.
