Remember when hopping on a bike was a pass to freedom? Maybe it still is. With some help, local elementary school children will soon get a bike to ride.

On Friday, December 10th, students, faculty, staff, and citizens are invited to come to the Delta College Ricker Center, located in Buena Vista, MI 48601 (1925 South Outer Drive) anytime from 9am to 4 pm to help assemble 20 brand new bicycles to be donated to local area children in need. All the tools necessary to assemble the bikes will be on hand. Participants need only to show up with eager spirits.

On Friday, December 17th and Saturday, December 18th  the bike program will be continue at the Delta College Main Campus, located in University Center, MI 48710 (1961 Delta Road) in M-150 from 9am to 4 pm. This time participants will assemble any refurbished bikes that have been donated to the program. Used or new bike donations will be collected until December 18th, said Director of the program, Jack Crowell. But he asks people to donate before then. "The bikes don't have to be in perfect order to be donated," he said.
