I hope that you've all bookmarked 360 Main Street and visit often. We try our best to entertain and inform, celebrate and inspire.
A year ago at this time, I first met Brad Osmond, who showed me his newly designed website: 360 Main Street. As he spoke of his dreams for it, I immediately saw how it could be a catalyst for change, simply by focusing on the people of heart and the goodness already in our communities. Since then it has become a vibrant reflection of Mid-Michigan culture, built from the grassroots with the contributions of over 50 writers and 100 photographers, and the financial support of advertisers.
On Thursday May 6th, members of the 360 Main Street Team, Publisher Brad Osmond, Associate Editors Gina Myers and Jeremy Benson, and I, will celebrate with members of the community at the All Area Arts Awards at the Dow Event Center. We are honored to be nominated for an award in the business category. Whichever business walks away with the official honor, we feel you, our readers, have already made us winners by walking down Main Street with us. We cannot thank you enough.
"What we need is more people that specialize in the impossible," Saginaw poet Theodore Roethke once said. The seemingly impossible becomes possible when people of goodwill join together, putting their differences aside and their talents and energy to work for the community.
For me, the journey is just beginning.
